Flugreisen mit Modellflugzeug / LiPos im Gepäck.

So, so langsam wirds ernst, nächste Woche Freitag gehts los übers weite Meer nach Australien! Natürlich darf auf der Nuri für Luftaufnahmen nicht fehlen.

Die Große Frage ist wie läuft das mit dem Modellbaukram im Gepäck, was ins Handgepäck, was in de Koffer. Wer hat das schon mal gemacht und kann ein paar Tips geben.

Fluglinie ist Quantas, mitnehmen werde ich den Nuri im Koffer, den Sender ohne Batterien (wohl auch im Koffer) und eben den LiPobeutel mit 3x 3s800 LiPos.

Quantas schreibt zum Handgepäck das hier:

Portable electronic devices containing lithium or lithium ion cells or batteries and Spare lithium or lithium ion cells or batteries

Spare Lithium ion batteries and cells with a Watt hour rating greater than 160Wh, are not permitted on an aircraft under any circumstances.
Spare lithium ion batteries and cells with a Watt hour rating of between 100Wh and 160Wh are limited to two batteries per passenger. Batteries must have terminals insulated or protected to prevent short circuit and must be carried in cabin baggage only. – Operator approval is required for these prior to travel.
Spare Lithium ion batteries and cells with a Watt hour rating or less than 100Wh have no limit to the number that can be carried, batteries must have terminals insulated or protected to prevent short circuit and must be carried in cabin baggage only
Spare Lithium metal or Lithium alloy batteries with a lithium content of less than 2 grams have no limit to the number that can be carried, however, batteries must have terminals insulated or protected to prevent short circuit and must be carried in cabin baggage only.
If batteries are installed in equipment such as laptop computers, camera, calculators etc – the above limits still apply, however they can be carried as checked baggage, provided the electronic device is protected from accidental activation.

Note: Conversion from Ah (Amp hours) to Wh is: Ah x Voltage = Wh.

Von der erlaubten Kapazität wäre ich also weit drunter, ist nur die Frage ob die LiPos darunter fallen, oder doch lieber einfach ins niormale Gepäck...

Also die Fernsteuerung auf jedenfall in den Koffer, in Frankfurt haben die die auch mal ausgepackt und auf sprengstoff getestet (Wischtests).
Lipos -> Koffer.

Dann solltest du keine Probleme haben.

Ja, so is der Plan, beides oben drauf in den Koffer, Lipos im Sack und gut Isoliert, noch ne FMT dazulegen und gut is ;-)

Im Prinzip geht es um den Energiegehalt eines einzelnen Akkupacks, mehr nicht.
ÜBER 100Wh bis 160Wh darf NUR im Handgepäck transportiert werden. Man streitet sich des öfteren über die Angabe "spare batteries" bei Geräten wie z.B. Flugmodellen. Du könntest einen Akku einbauen und zwei Erstazakkus mitnehmen, wenn die jeweils zwischen 100Wh und 160Wh liegen.Tun Deine Akkus aber nicht.

Weltweit gültig ist folgendes:
Fakt ist, daß Du an Akkus so viele mitnehmen kannst wie Du willst, wenn die Einzelpacks weniger als 100Wh haben! Die Kontakte müssen isoliert sein (am besten noch mal einschrumpfen oder Silikonschlausch drüber). Mitnahme nur im Handgepäck! Und Du mußt (theoretisch) bei der Airline anfragen, ob die die Mitnahme akzeptieren. Formlose Email reicht. Tipp: Nicht anfragen, Akkus in Lipo Sack und Zettel mit ausgerechneter Wh Angabe rein. So geht bei mir immer. Ohne Gewähr... (bei mir geht das einfacher ).
Und die Akkupacks so weit wie es geht entladen, damit die bei Kurzschluß/Perforation nicht gleich an Armageddon erinnern.

Ich selber habe allerdings auch einmal den Transport verweigert, weil einer einen ganzen Koffer voll Lipo´s dabei hatte.


Wenn mal sowas ist: Ihr könnt mich gerne Anschreiben deswegen. Wenn ich erreichbar bin, kann ich recht schnell nachschauen, was erlaubt ist und was nicht.

Also meine haben ja mal so überschlagen 10Vx1000mAh = 10Wh. Diese unterliegen dann also keiner Limitierung und sollten auch im Gepäck kein Problem darstellen.
Zettel mit Wh Angabe rein ist keine schlechte Idee.

Du kannst den Sender (falls auf Lipo...) also in das aufgegebene Gepäck packen. Theoretisch auch das Modell mit einem eingebauten Akku. Sollte aber nicht so sein, weil der ja leicht zu wechseln oder herauszunehmen ist.
